Splash Back to Action

I overheard a conversation earlier on this week about Kellogg’s and free swimming. I swim regularly every week and it costs me £3.00 a time. Pretty expensive when sometimes I only manage ½ an hour. So the idea of a free swim sounded swimtastic! I did a quick search on the internet and found that Kellogg’s were indeed promoting free swimming vouchers on cereal packages…Winner!! Check out the Kellogg's free swim link to see more information and find the nearest swimming pool near you that accepts the vouchers.

Tip –

1. Don’t eat cereal for breakfast? Bit more of an athletic swimmer than myself and swim more than once a week? Start asking friends, family members, co-workers and all your acquaintances to save their cereal boxes.

2. Haven’t got the latest swim wear? Shop on line using www.internetcashback.co.uk and earn money back on your purchases.

Travel by Train

“Train companies are scrapping dozens of their cheap fares. Some travellers will see the cost of a return journey triple.” Telegraph 18/05/2008

A simplified train fare system has been developed using 3 tickets types; advanced, anytime and off-peak, therefore people MUST book in advance before traveling to avoid the penny pinch.

Planning on a long weekend break this summer? Just booked your tickets for a summer festival? Though about travelling by train but was scared off by national news that a simplified train ticket system meant ticket price rises? Well fear not, if you book your train tickets 12 weeks in advance and avoid travelling at peak times then you still can bag a bargain. So why not scarp the car, and travel by train. It’s relaxing, eco-friendly and if planned ahead is cheaper than filling up the tank. .

Tip

1. Just about to book a train journey! Register with Internet Cashback to earn cashback on your tickets.
2. Do a price comparison and find the cheapest ticket.
3. Don’t forget to make yourself a packed lunch and hot flask. Food and drink prices on trains are a complete rip-off and will do your purse some serious damage.

Do your weekly food shop on-line and save a fortune.

“Food prices are accelerating at their fastest rate since records began, fueling a rise in the average family’s shopping bill of £750 a year.” Telegraph 09/06/2008

With increased food prices people need to become wiser with their cash when it comes to the dreaded weekly shop. One way of doing this is to ditch the supermarket trolley; pick up the mouse and do your grocery shopping on-line. With on-line supermarket shopping people are more likely to stick to their personal budget, not get persuaded by the famous but expensive 2 for 1 deals, and will not be tempted by the aroma of "just out of the oven" jam donuts. And the best part about it; Shoppers can do a price comparison check to find the cheapest supermarket and gain cash back for their weekly shop.

Top Tips

1. Plan a weekly menu. (If you plan what you and your family have each day, you’ll cut back on your food wastage, eat more of a well balanced diet and stop buying essentials from your over priced corner shop.)

2. Rummage around in the kitchen cupboards. (Have a good idea of things you already have and things you need to buy.)

3. Write a shopping list. (Use your weekly menu to devise a shopping list.)

4. Do a price comparison check. (Find the cheapest supermarket near you by using a supermarket price comparison site.)

5. Register with Internet Cashback (Gain cashback for your weekly shop.)
